Introduction

PA Workforce Development Association is committed to providing the highest level of program information and technical support to advance the skills of workforce development professionals. Through its partnerships with state and federal government agencies as well as private training providers, PA Workforce Development Association has built a reputation as a source for quality educational programs and professional networking opportunities for staff within the workforce development system.

Training and technical assistance are available in many forms to advance the skills of workforce professionals, from the leadership level to the front-line staff. Training programs have included hands-on workshops, webinars, teleconferences, symposia, policy forums, and statewide conferences.

In addition to training sessions throughout the year, PWDA sponsors two annual conferences – the Employment, Training and Education Conference in May, and the PA WDB Symposium (formerly known as the WIB Symposium) in October.  Both conferences provide training through plenary sessions and speakers as well as workshops and training courses in smaller group settings.  Promising practices from throughout the state are also featured at these conferences.
