Senate HELP Committee releases proposed WIA reauthorization draft bill, hosts full committee hearing on June 20
The Senate Health, Employment, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee circulated a discussion draft of WIA reuathorization bill on June 19. On Thursday, June 20, the Committee will host a hearing on reauthorizing the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) of 1998. Bi-partisan CAREER Act introduced by Ohio, Colorado Senators
Senators Rob Portman (R-OH) and Michael Bennet (D-CO) introduced a workforce reform bill known as the Careers through Responsive, Efficient and Effective Retraining (CAREER) Act. The Act is designed to streamline dozens of federal workforce programs while giving community colleges and career technical institutions priority access to funding.
