PA Department of Labor & Industry Releases Two Workforce Policies

 

The PA Department of Labor & Industry recently released the final versions of two workforce system policies that take effect on July 1, 2014: the Local Governance policy and the Workforce Delivery System policy. Local areas will have until October 1, 2014 to be in compliance with these guidelines. PWDA has also submitted comments and recommendations to the Department on the state's new Financial Management Policy, which is still being reviewed.

 

U.S House Passes WIOA 415-6, Sends Bill to President for Signature

 

Today, the U.S. House of Representatives passed the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), H.R. 803, by a 415-6 vote. WIOA, which would reauthorize the Workforce Investment Act of 1998, will now go to President Obama for his signature. PA Department of Labor & Industry Release Draft Financial Management Policy

The Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry has released a draft version of the new 2014 Financial Management Policy. PWDA is currently in the process of reviewing and analyzing this policy, and will submit comments to L&I in the next week.
